Perrine-Peters United Methodist

Greetings to my new friends at Perrine-Peters United Methodist Church! Thank you so much for the warm welcome and genuine hand of friendship you extended to me at the Prayer Breakfast on Saturday. I would also like to particularly express my heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Bob Boger (pictured on far left) for writing me the beautiful poem below. What a gift, I'll treasure it forever!

In the Kitchen with friends at Perrine-Peters United Methodist Church! To Bernadette:
Thanks for the Blessing

Come hear the story,
Of Bernadette Todd,
A sweet, gentle spirit,
Filled up with our God...

”From Despair to Faith”,
Through heart torn affliction,
A pathway to Grace,
And sweet benediction…

From a wheelchair she speaks,
So soft and demure,
But the strength of God’s Word,
Bursts forth true and pure...

Hanging out with Pastor Carr and family!

I dare you to listen,
And shed not a tear,
As God’s Spirit through Bern,
Will dismantle your fear…

Though unable to move,
Or walk this old sod,
Her soft, flowing story,
Will move mountains for God…

In the depth of her witness,
Her purpose was born,
That no temporal sickness,
Should God’s people mourn…

Take heed of her message,
And yes, follow through,
His message through her…
There's a purpose for you!

Ministry Update

Dear Friends,

As I type this, the first word that leaps to my mind is THANKS! Thank you so much for your prayer support, love and true friendship. So many of you have sent emails asking how things are going and wondering why I haven't been in touch. Sorry it's been so long since I have posted anything...

Me Sick!I was sick for a while with the flu (which led to fluid on my lungs) and even lost my voice for two weeks. But what a blessing to know that Jeff and I have each of you praying for us constantly! Let there be no doubt in your mind. Your prayers are making an incredible difference as I recovered MUCH quicker than usual and was able to continue my busy speaking schedule, making no cancellations. Even though I personally felt I was not at my best - speaking with a froggy voice, feeling weak and utterly useless in that weakness - God's power was truly made perfect and He was able to use me to encourage and lead people to Christ. God is so good and I am simply awestruck by the works of His hand!

Jeff's surgery Speaking of hand, Jeff underwent surgery last week to remove another skin cancer. This time from his finger. He had as many as 35 little stitches, yes all on his pinky finger! Thankfully, it wasn't the worst, melanoma, like last time, but it was indeed cancerous and if left untreated would have spread. I sat by his side and watched the entire operation … yuckity yuck yuck!!!! Nevertheless, Jeff is doing just fine and will be blowing out candles on his birthday cake this weekend.

I am very sad to announce that Becky Lenard (pictured below on left), is leaving us the end of May after being a valued part of my ministry team for over a year. This beautiful lady has been such a joy to work with. She is always so filled with God's grace that she can't help but transmit it to those around her. I'm ever so thankful that the Lord placed Becky in my life and that we have had the privilege of laboring together for His purposes. We wish her along with her husband Randy and new baby Madeline Rose, God's blessings as they go on to a new adventure in Oklahoma. Her presence on my team will be sorely missed.

Me and my Ministry Team!
Isabel Riverol (pictured on right), remains eagerly committed and is looking forward to continuing as my Personal Assistant. She feels God has called her to this ministry and contributes greatly her time with uncompromising devotion, offering me her full assistance. Most importantly, week after week Isabel is faithfully at my side extending her heart, and the love of Jesus to the countless people we meet.

Please continue to lift us in prayer as we travel from church to church. In the weeks ahead the wheels of my van will be constantly on the move as I continue to maintain a moderately full speaking schedule. I am so humbled by the many ministry opportunities that continue to come my way and most grateful that God is allowing me to participate in the work He is doing.

Special thanks to all the pastors that have not only opened the doors of their churches to me, allowing me the incredible privilege of sharing my message, but who also continue to stay in touch, encouraging me along the way.

Continuing in His service,
Bernadette Todd
