Ephesians 5:25

About Jeff

Young JeffAs a young boy of 11, I remember having a yearning for God. I just knew there had to be something more to life than just existing. On Sunday mornings, I would notice a bunch of kids in my neighborhood gathered around a stop sign. Peering from my front porch, I would watch as a big yellow bus would later come pick them up. I was so curious about where they were going. I soon found out that they were headed to church. I couldn’t explain why but I wanted more than anything to be a part of that group of kids. So with my parent’s permission, I too began riding that big yellow bus every Sunday to church. I’ll never forget that time in my life. I began attending Sunday school, children’s church, vacation bible school and even went to youth camp. It was in Sunday school where I first heard about the love of Jesus and accepted Him as my Lord and Savior.

Jeff & BernadetteMy call to the ministry came the day Bernadette became my wife. I made a vow to God on our wedding day that I would take care of her and help her to reach her full potential in Him. When I realized that the Lord had given her a gift for speaking, and saw how much He could use her to inspire the hope of Jesus in others, I also realized something else. She can’t do it without me; the call was not hers alone, it was ours. Nothing brings me greater joy than seeing God use Bernadette’s life – a life that was once said to be useless – to impact the lives of countless others around the world.

Jeff & BernadetteAlthough Bernadette has already outlived her life expectancy of 8 years, I know realistically that she physically only has a window of time to accomplish the mission of reaching people that God has given her. Towards the end of Jesus' ministry He said to God in John 17:4 "I have finished the work that You gave me to do." Bernadette’s heart cries to be able to say the same. Therefore, as her husband, I am committed to abandoning all and helping her to do this ministry for as long as God gives us both the physical ability to do it.
